    Since the trigger doesn't "pass through" TTL signals to the EX, I suspect the flash doesn't think it's getting enough information from the camera to be a master.

    Using only the transmitter no receiver will not fire any camera.

    The flash fires when on the camera [well, ontop of the hot shoe adapter], but when I put just the trigger on the camera body, and the receiver on the flash [so the camera and flash are now seperate], it doesn't work.
